Application servers allow you to work smarter not harder:

Since I can not create more hours in the day, then I need to find ways to improve my productivity during the day. Do you or your staff ever find you are doing these types of tasks?

§ Every week, printing and delivering operational reports to key people at your company ( i.e. such as Trial Balances, Maintenance Lists, and Valuation reports)

§ Printing reports so that you can later attach them as emails

§ Waiting for long reports to run, so your computer can start running faster on other applications?

§ Nightly starting transaction import processes where you are uploading data from another application into the Solomon accounting data entry screens?

There has been a tool which has been out for several years called Application Server, but few people have taped into its power. Virtually any spare computer can run the application server software.

The way I see this software helping us all is:

1) the ability to submit any Solomon process or report to run on the application server, hence freeing up your machine to do other task better

2) the ability to request that reports or processes automatically run per a pre determined schedule

3) the ability to request that the report be emailed as an attachment, instead of printed out

4) the ability to select that reports are run with specific templates, when automatically scheduled

5) the ability to send an email (either from within your intranet or the internet) to your application server which in turn runs your report request and emails the results back to you.

Gaining productivity for our staff is one way for us all to gain competitive advantage over others. Is this a goal your accounting staff is also looking for?
