Solomon
Users and Resellers,
Thanks for checking us
out. This ezine newsletter is for users
and resellers of the Solomon IV software product. By now most of you have received your version
6.0 CD for Solomon IV. This is part of
the annual upgrades for our product, and our experience has been great. We are now recommending that all users for
the core financial modules, (i.e. GL, AP, and AR, and Cash Manger) and also the
verticals for Project and Supply Chain modules upgrade to this version.
Some of the features which
we believe you will enjoy are:
1)
Great new
navigation system, which has a modern look and feel
2)
Menus for
modules and task choices are dynamically linked to the access rights for the
user. This means you only see menu
choices which you have permission to access
3)
The new favorite’s
button allows you to add quick links to either Solomon screen or reports, to
other non Solomon applications or to other web sites. This means you can effectively design a page
which is your favorites for launching all types of applications from a central
place.
As with all Microsoft
products, there is a big push for security enhancements. The recent service pack 1 for Version 6.0
was released. We are seeing a few 3rd
party products which are not fully compatible with these updates, so please
check either with us or your local reseller to make sure all of your 3rd
party products are tested and approved to work with this upgrade. The number of problems with version 6.0 was
very low; hence the selective adding of hot fixes/ updates may be a temporary
better solution.
This month we are sharing
some hints and tips around these areas:
1)
Adding the
ability to email invoices and statements though outlook.
2)
Becoming a
power user with copying and pasting
3)
AR cleans up
the easy way!!
4)
Improving your
use of Event Files in Solomon
5)

Character Set version of Solomon for companies in the
