I hope you
enjoy our monthly newsletter. Our goal
is to keep “newsy” and “useful” ideas in front of you as to how to improve your
use of the Solomon series from Microsoft Business Solutions. I am experimenting with a new format for
presenting the newsletter. There are links to each section of our newsletter,
with the idea that you can jump to just the areas which are useful to you.
This month
we have chosen as our third party software the ubiquitous Excel 2000 or Excel
XP. Many of us use this as our primary
analysis tool. Yet, many uses do not
realize that they can create Pivot tables and OLAP cubes from their Solomon
accounting data. We illustrated this
concept in one of educational topics this month. Hope you find it useful.
I need
your help in one important area. That
area is referrals. If you know of
someone who is changing accounting positions, please consider passing our name
on to them. Often as people move to new
companies they inherit “sub standard” accounting systems. Also if you know of someone who is
frustrated with their current accounting software, or who just finished a
difficult year end closing and is looking for new software, please refer
us. Just pass our name on, or maybe
just pass on a copy of this newsletter, as a reminder that we would like to
understand their business problems and see if we can develop solutions for
them. As a way of saying thank you, I’d
like to reward any person(s) passing on a referral name to us which ends up
creating a new Solomon Sale, a gift certificate to Amazon.com for $70. Just drop me an email telling me about the
referral with a name and phone number so I can follow up. This offer is valid until
