Microsoft’s Big Security release for XP Operating Systems:
In the last two months, there has been a lot of press for the SP2 for XP Operating systems. Since Solomon clients are supported on this system I wanted to pass on the comments that both Solomon IV v 5.5 and 6.0 are approved for this update.
If you want to understand some of the features of this update, check out this site:

This is good news, because people who buy new workstations are likely to start seeing this SP2 automatically be installed. Solomoon will work with this SP. For existing workstations run XP or XP SP1, I recommend a more conservative approach.
On a personal level, I am advising my clients to upgrade slowly to this release. As good as the goods are for improving security for the desktop, I get concerned when profile settings are automatically being changed. SSI recommends you work closely with your hardware VAR or IT department to determine when to process this update. Make sure your goals for increased security are balanced with the fact that all of your current software which you run from this workstation may or may not work with the update. Be cautious.
